Sparring on demand

As a sparring partner at your side – for individual decisions, ongoing projects or over years. The external view when you need it, at the rhythm that fits you.

Why external sparring

Good sales decisions rarely emerge on their own. You need someone who knows the situation, honestly questions it and thinks with you – without internal politics, without a hidden agenda. That is exactly the core of our sparring mandates: a second head for the decisions that really count.

The advantage of an external sparring partner lies in the combination of closeness and distance. Close enough to know your business, your customers and your terms. Far enough away from daily business to see patterns that are hardly visible internally anymore.

Three formats, one principle

Sparring is not a standard product. Depending on need, we work in three formats:

  • Punctual.

Individual decisions, shortly before a negotiation, before a listing conversation, before a pricing round. One conversation that clarifies the decisive question.

  • Project-accompanying.

Over the duration of a project – from realigning a sales territory to introducing a new product. Regular exchange, fixed contacts.

  • Ongoing.

As an external sales head over years. Fixed appointments, a growing understanding of your business, reliable availability for the questions that arise between meetings.

When sparring works

Sparring pays off whenever a decision has more consequences than it appears at first sight. When an important customer conversation is coming up. When internal consensus formed too quickly. When you have the gut feeling that a second opinion would help.

And it pays off when a company grows and sales leadership reaches its limits – even before adding another position makes sense.

Frequently asked questions

How does a sparring mandate work in practice?

It depends on the format. Punctual sparring starts with a first conversation and then addresses the concrete question. Project-accompanying and ongoing sparring runs on fixed rhythms – from weekly short meetings to monthly strategy sessions. We agree the exact cadence together.

What does a sparring mandate cost?

The framework depends on format and scope – from a single hour to long-term support agreements. For ongoing mandates we often work with fixed retainers, for project-accompanying ones with daily or hourly quotas. We clarify the terms in the initial consultation.

Is sparring the same as an interim mandate?

No. In an interim mandate we take on operational responsibility – for example as temporary sales leadership. In sparring we are advisors in the background, without an operational role. Both are possible but should be clearly separated.

Who does ongoing sparring particularly make sense for?

For managing directors without their own sales leadership, for sales leaders who lack a sparring-capable counterpart within the company, and for companies in transition phases – succession, growth, realignment.
